There´s a lot going on at ZEITLOS these days. What they used to present to their visitors in a 200 square feet large sort of shabby chic hall is now about to be presented in a new, even larger hall, which is under construction - and under top secret aswell. Just a glimpse of it already makes you ask yourself: Are we in the newest flying hotel, a german zeppelin or is this a film studio, around 1939? The scene seems fascinating, surreal.
Certainly, there is a brain behind all that, his name is Oliver Axer. Well known to insiders under the name "Deutsche Moderne". And what ever type of project he touches, will be brought to perfection.
He already surprised with his one and only TV-film which he just made by the way. Thed result was nothing less than Germany´s most desired TV-award, the famous "Adlof-Grimme-Preis". Also that seems very surreal - but is reality. And now he is doing his first shop design, for ZEITLOS. And soon Axer and ZEITLOS will be able to offer this service to others.
Framed by batteries of aeronautical streamlined silver reflectors, the public will soon find a presentation of the finest and breathtaking originals from the period of modernism. From Bauhaus, via puristic Art Deco to the world of James Bond and the porn-pop era, gallery owner Uwe Mönnikes will lead you into temptation with his thrilling assortment of vintage treasures from the past modern world.
Whether fully restored for everyday usage, or still in absolute authentic patina for collectors and museums - everywhere you just see those desirable items you would want to dream of. Chairs, Armchairs, Sofas, Sideboards, and not to mention some incredible lamps. What they all have in commmon - they were modern in their time and simply do not lose this modernity at all. The reason is simple, as Mönnikes explaines with an intuitive smile: "The very best is already behind us..."
