Oliver Axer
Deeply moved we announce, that our dear friend, Dipl. Industrial designer Oliver Axer passed away on November 10th, 2011.
After many years of friendship, Oliver has accepted our offer in autumn of 2010 and took the task into his hands to design the new exhibition and sales floor of Gallery ZEITLOS – BERLIN.
It is our personal wish to clarify and illustrate, under which condition he accepted this great task, which he fulfilled masterly. Attacked for the second time in his life by his greatest enemy “cancer” and heavily limited due to chemotherapies, he created and worked constructive on the highest achievable level.
After completion of the project in March 2011, he wrote to friends and well known customers : “ …I also want to set a symbol for all those who are going through a difficult phase in their life and have committed themselves to getting through it in one piece. This world is great you know and even as an abused dog you still can do fine things – especially then, you are exceedingly creative, because you are fighting for survival and you don’t live your life routinely as usual.”
This fighting spirit and sense for experiences on the edge made Oliver special and what he was. We will never forget his creativeness – and even more, we will remember him for his great heart.
Cancer might have won the battle over his body, his spirit we will encounter again.
We are thankful for the time spent together.
Ludmila and Uwe Mönnikes and the employees of the Design Gallery ZEITLOS - BERLIN
