Festellan was the brand name for the Bakelite products used by AEG company in the Thirties. In 1932, the review "Technik für alle" is presenting the new material and the AEG company production plants in Henningsdorf where the material was made. With the new products in a Bauhaus orientated design AEG, same as Rosenthal, sets out to conquer the luxury market and with the brand name "Festellan" derived from the word "Fest " who means in german solid and "Ellan", wanted to describe his high functionalist and modern product line. The coffee service here presented is perfectly made and with the combination of materials, chrome-plated metal and bakelite can be without doubt considered a museum item.
